ZONTA CLUB OF CEBU II continuously conducts Seminar Workshops identified by the Service providers and the Community advocates, in order to address the need of our expanding services. We started the Dangoyngoy Sa Kahilum (CRY FOR HELP) Series…. On it’s Part 6” – Bridging the Gaps in the Handling of VAWC Cases to 250 Police Women Desk Officers in the Province of Cebu and GAD Focals of Cebu City and barangay officials with the theme : "I AM PART OF BREAKING THE SILENCE".

Zonta Club of Cebu II Barangay Alang-Alang 4K Livelihood Program

In answer to the request of our 4Kwomen in Alang-Alang, our club sponsored another training as part of our livelihood program. February 20, 2015 was the date chosen for a training in powder detergent, fabric softener and dishwashing liquid making. Twenty-two women who were most eager to learn in order to be able to augment their family income attended this. The trainer, Hon. Adelaida Frasco Ouano is a very competent trainer aside from her other qualifications such as: 1st councilor of Barangay Banilad, Cebu City, former GAD Focal, Chairperson for Committee on Gender and Advocacy Development, and facilitator for Women’s Rights and Gender Concerns.

Alimbukad Reading Program in Lapu-Lapu City

UNDERPRIVILEGED kinder one (K-1) students of Poo Elementary School in Olango Island, Lapu-Lapu City has been named the latest beneficiary of “Alimbukad: Basa Pamilya,” a program developed by Wi Suan Tiu of Zonta Club of Cebu II, and has been adopted by the club as a continuing project to further its goal to uplift the status of women and children.

Search for Leadership Excellence Award

Six schools have been invited to submit three nominees among their academically outstanding female students, as candidates for the Zonta II Search for Leadership Excellence, academic year 2014 - 2015.These schools are: (1) Childlink Learning School and Childlink High School, (2) University of Southern Philippines Foundation, Mabini Campus (3) USPF Lahug Campus, (4) University of the Philippines Cebu , (5) Cebu Institute of Technology University, and (6) Mandaue City Science High School.

Adolescent Health Program - Teen-Age Health Initiative

The proposal to have a “Teen-age Pregnancy Prevention Program” was concretized with a visit to the St. Mary Euphrasia Training Center in June 2015 by Zontians Marieta Malinao (president), Lucy Carcel, Deborah Limchiu, Mildred Simolde, Vivien Seno, Margie Sy, Myrna Tan. The group was met by Sr. Felicidad Maningo, RGS , of the community of the Good Shepherd, who runs the facility with two house mothers.

Zonta’s Programs and Projects Towards Empowering Women

In fulfillment of the International Women’s Day Activity, Zonta Cebu II led 10,000 women in a parade and had a booth at the Cebu City hall grounds for One week showcasing Zonta’s programs and projects towards empowering Women - advocating laws on women and livelihood programs there was also a women’s bazaar showcasing women’s home made products.
